Belonging to the European Union implies the responsibility to know, respect, and promote its objectives.
The Treaty of Lisbon outlines fundamental values such as equality and human rights, respect for human dignity, freedom, and democracy. The European Union protects and works to improve environmental conditions, promotes peace, and enhances the well-being of all its peoples. It combats social exclusion and discrimination, fostering social justice and protection, equality between women and men, solidarity between generations, and the protection of children’s rights.
We must instill these values in our younger citizens to build a strong European identity, ensuring that they become well-educated and informed individuals in line with the actions promoted by the EU in the future.
