The use of ICT in education constitutes a powerful tool that broadens and democratizes learning opportunities among groups of different incomes (Hopenhayn, 2003).
One of the chosen objectives for our project has been to make ICTs increasingly used by our students, both at school and in their daily lives. Undoubtedly, it is a new way of seeing education that is full of advantages: student motivation, opportunity to access knowledge from other cultures, practice languages, instill values, etc. As educators, we must embrace this new model of teaching and learning.
In our schools, we have interactive whiteboards, laptops, and tablets for accessing applications and the Internet. There are projectors for making presentations, showing videos, or conducting video conferences. We use Google Classroom to complement classroom lessons, etc. This type of education improves the integration of students with disabilities.
With this Erasmus project, we have implemented the use of the Teams platform to establish various video calls between students from both schools to get to know each other better before meeting in person. They have introduced themselves and discussed the project. In this way, we have managed to enhance the attention of our students to the work we had at hand. By sharing educational materials and information about different cultures, they have been learning and developing knowledge.
Through the PEL platform, European Language Portfolio, they have exchanged information in Spanish, English, and French about their hometowns.
